If you are passionate about building and collecting model cars, you are probably looking for a unit to house them. Building a display case is a great solution and can provide opportunities for customization. ALPHAMODEL is a famous car 1/24 model manufacturer in China, we have various car models such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini and so on. We show you a way to build your own display case.
1. Plan it out
Select the cars you want to display and take measurements of them. You will need to leave an inch of space on each side for each one. Determine the width of the slot based on your largest model project by adding 2 inches to its width to get the right number. Next, determine the height and length of the cabinet and draw it on a piece of paper so you have a clear idea.

2. Make the cabinet frame
Model the cart to make two equal pieces of wood for the sides of the unit. Then, measure and cut the top and bottom sections. Assemble all four pieces into a rectangle and secure with screws and wood glue.
3. Install the shelf and back
The shelves consist of hardwood with wooden pegs fastened to the cabinet frame. Please refer to your plans from step one to know exactly where each pin will be located and mark accordingly. Cut the pins into one-inch nails, insert a bit of wood glue in each hole, and place a nail inside. Forge shelves from cardboard to rest on the nails.

4. Make and install the doors
Cut the framing lumber to the same size as the cabinet, then assemble the product using wood glue and framing staples. Secure the glass to the door with glue and large head nails. Finally, you can attach the door to the unit by introducing the hinges and securing it with a hook-and-eye closure on the other side of the hinges.
5. Wrapping up
The final step is to beautify your piece. Sand all wood sections, then use a tack cloth to remove excess dust. Apply the varnish of your choice, being careful not to get any on the glass. Once dry, you can install the cabinets and display your model car collection.
